On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Moving Education Institute, Inc. proudly opened the exhibition.
The opening reception was a warm gathering of parents, family members, friends, and community supporters who came together to celebrate the artistry and storytelling at the heart of this project. Guests had the opportunity to engage directly with the young artists, composer James Grater, visual artist Kathleen Binder, who guided the creation of the portraits, and Frenchy Haynes—Founder of the Moving Education Institute and the creative force behind Letters to Our Fathers.
The evening also featured a special screening of the video performance of Letters To Our Fathers, giving attendees the chance to experience the powerful narrative that inspired the portrait exhibition.
The exhibition stands as both a celebration of youth expression and a reflection of the community’s role in supporting creative voices.
